I have been in this industry for the last 12 years. I started as a job developer then became an independent contractor/ PSW. Working for myself proved to be a challenge. I knew I needed to expand if I wanted to continue providing quality services. Bridge City Mentors opened in early spring of 2016! Mentoring and advocacy has always been a passion of mine. To have the opportunity to teach others how to mentor and advocate for individuals and to provide the empowering services we do, is a lifelong dream. I am grateful everyday to be doing what I love, with people that I admire and respect. On my off time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my wife and two husky dogs. I love photography, gardening, and mixed media art.

I live in Portland with my son, two cats, and two dogs. I am into gardening, cooking, and finding all of the secret swimming holes in Oregon. I adore being outside and exploring all nature has to offer. I am passionate about my community and find great fulfillment in empowering those around me.
Saryn Masako Horikawa-Mentor/Advocate
I was born and raised here in Oregon. I’m a mentor because I’ve always been passionate about helping others. I love animals, hiking, cooking, singing, and hanging out with my family.
I have been with Bridge City Mentors since 2016, and am also a student at Portland State University. I love spending time with my two dogs, tending to my house plants, and rock hounding at the Oregon coast! What drew me to mentoring was the desire for empowering communities and individuals through civic engagement. I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this team, and our community.
Erica Wilson – Job Developer/Job Coach
I am a native Oregonian growing up in Talent OR. I have two amazing children and a German Shepard that light up my world. When I am not working, I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, and live music.
I have worked and volunteered in the nonprofit community in Portland for almost 7 years. My mother was born deaf, so I understand the challenges faced by people with disabilities. I am fluent in ASL and believe that disabilities should not be limitations. I have a passion for working with people so they can find meaningful careers. I am proud to be a member of the Bridge City Mentors team.
